The answer lies in the early years of their careers. Back when they both were trying to make it big in the music industry. They both had similar styles and influences, but they couldn’t have been more different as people.

Tupac Shakur was an outspoken political activist who wore his heart on his sleeve. Sometimes literally on his shirt sleeves. He was known for his social awareness and willingness to stand up for his beliefs, even if it meant putting himself at risk or getting arrested for it (which happened).

On the other hand, Sean Combs (aka P. Diddy) was a business-savvy mogul who knew how to build an empire from nothing. He used his celebrity status to get ahead of everyone else—including Tupac Shakur.

So, Did Tupac Hate P. Diddy?

P. Diddy (puff daddy) Combs is a famous American rapper, record producer, and actor. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide. Puffdaddy’s real name is Sean Combs.

Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was an American rapper who sold over 75 million albums worldwide. He was murdered in September 1996 in Las Vegas.

In 1995, Puffdaddy released his second album, No Way Out, featuring a track titled “Victory”. The track features Biggie Smalls and Mase rapping about the Bad Boy label, their success and how they will never sell out to another label like Death Row Records, owned by Suge Knight.

Suge Knight was a friend of Tupac’s. At one point, the two were in business together before Tupac discovered that Suge had cheated him on royalties for some tracks he had recorded for Death Row Records. This led to a significant rift between them, resulting in Suge Knight being charged with murder after he hired men to kill Shakur in retaliation for insulting him at a party hosted by Vibe magazine editor Quincy Jones III.

In 1995, Tupac Shakur signed with Death Row Records and released his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now. The album was part of a five-album deal that included future releases: The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, Me Against the World, All Eyez on Me, and Greatest Hits.

Death Row Records was founded by Marion “Suge” Knight and Dr Dre in 1991, and the label was home to artists including Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Nate Dogg, and Warren G.

Bad Boy Entertainment was founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs in 1992. In addition to Combs’ solo work, Bad Boy was home to artists such as Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, Mase, Total/Puffy Combs (Sean’s brother), Lil Kim, and Ma$e, among others.

They both dated Faith Evans, but she chose Diddy over Tupac.

Tupac Shakur and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs had a famously rocky relationship. Still, it all started with a woman named Faith Evans.

Tupac and Faith were an item in the late ’90s, and when they broke up, Tupac started dating Kidada Jones (now Kidada Jones Cole), the daughter of Quincy Jones. That didn’t sit well with Puff Daddy, who is said to have been jealous of Tupac’s new relationship.

So what happened next? Well, it all began at the Soul Train Music Awards in 1998. Puffy was sitting at his table with Faith Evans—the same woman he’d previously dated—, and when Tupac got up to get a drink, he stopped to say hello to her. The two hugged briefly before he went on his way. Still, this seemingly innocent exchange was enough for Puffy’s crew to start beating up Tupac outside the event!

The two rappers would never make up after this incident, and they even traded shots back and forth in their music videos over the years (see: “What’s Beef” vs “Hit Em Up”). But we’ll always wonder: if Tupac hadn’t met Kidada first, would there have been any beef?

At the time, Tupac was signed to Death Row Records, and P. Diddy was signed to Bad Boy Entertainment. The two rappers were both at the Quad Recording Studios in New York City on November 30, 1994, to record a song together when Tupac was shot and robbed by members of his entourage.

After being shot six times, Tupac was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The next day Puff Daddy flew him back to California, where Tupac spent the next few weeks recovering from his injuries.

The shooting led to a feud between Tupac and Puff Daddy that lasted until Tupac’s death in September 1996 at age 25 from internal bleeding after being shot multiple times while riding in a car driven by Death Row CEO Suge Knight outside of Las Vegas.

Tupac felt that Diddy stole his style and identity when working together on the All Eyez on Me album in 1996.

Tupac was at a party in New York City hosted by Bad Boy Records, where he saw Puff Daddy’s new record label. He was impressed with what he saw. He liked how Diddy had created a brand for himself and his crew through their clothes, music, and lifestyle. So Tupac decided to work with him on an album, All Eyez on Me.

This would be Tupac’s first double CD album and feature the song “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted,” which featured Snoop Dogg and Biggie Smalls, and “All About U,” featured 112 & Lil’ Kim. However, while working together, they began to clash over ideas about how they wanted their music to sound.

They also began feuding publicly over lyrics in songs like Biggie’s “Who Shot Ya?” which referenced Tupac being shot five times by an unknown gunman during a drive-by shooting at Quad Studios in New York City back in 1994 (which happened when he was still signed with Death Row Records). Many believe this caused the rift between them, but there were other factors.

The two rappers were supposed to perform together at the club that night, but P. Diddy cancelled on Tupac at the last minute without giving him any notice; this left Tupac standing onstage alone while all of his fans waited for him to perform with another artist instead of just by himself as he’d originally planned (source). Not only did this make him look foolish in front of everyone who came out to see him that night, but it also hurt his reputation among other rappers and fans worldwide who knew about this news story from newspapers or magazines covering music from across America (source).

Tupac’s beef with P. Diddy is one of the most infamous in hip-hop history. But why did he hate P. Diddy?
