Are Rappers' Diamond Teeth Permanent?

First of all: What is a diamond Teeths & Are Rappers’ Diamond Teeth Permanent?
A diamond grill is a mouthpiece that includes all or part of the wearer’s front teeth, usually made of platinum or stainless steel. Grills are worn in hip-hop but are common in other rap and reggae music forms. Typically, these grills are attached to a bar-shaped backing on which the wearer’s teeth fit. The fastened support metal clasps or brackets are attached to the teeth. Because they can be uncomfortable or painful to wear for long periods, some people modify their grillz.

These modifications include adding additional diamonds or gems to their existing grillz and adding new pieces that do not have diamonds (e.g., gold plated).

Many kings and royalty wore them for centuries before rappers decided to take them up as a symbol of power and prestige. The question I always get from people after talking about grills is: Are they permanent?

So Are Rappers’ Diamond Teeth Permanent?

The answer to this question is yes and no.
Rappers who wear diamond-studded grills have the option of getting their teeth removed, but they also have the option of keeping them on permanently. The decision to fire the grill depends on how much money you want to spend and how long you want it to last.

Different materials, including gold, platinum, or silver, make grills. Gold is the most common material used in grills. But it can be expensive if you want your customized grillz with diamonds and other jewels.

It’s important to note that gold will not dissolve even if you drink alcohol and eat acidic foods, sweets, and sparkling water. However, this does not mean that your mouth won’t get sore after eating these foods or drinking alcohol for an extended period—it just means that there won’t be any corrosion on your tooth enamel from eating them!

Platinum grills have a similar appearance as gold grills but are only about half as heavy (about 0.5 grams per tooth). They’re also more expensive than gold grills because they require more craft; however, this type of material will last longer than a gold grill would if properly cared for

9 Rapper With Permanent Diamond Teeth/Grillz?

Are Rappers' Diamond Teeth Permanent?

Lil Yachty:

Some rappers are known for their diamond grills. Lil Yachty is one of them, with a custom-made rainbow grill set that he wore to the 2017 Grammy Awards.

The rapper reached out to Icebox Diamonds & Watches to get these colorful grills just a week before the award show, asking for the set to match his vibrant personality.

Lil Yachty’s Grillz made the diamond set with white, green, orange, yellow, and blue precious gemstones in a fine cut.

Lil Yachty did not reveal the price for Lil Yachty’s set, which cost around $35,000.

The company representative said the rapper tried the final cut just hours before the show.

Lil Wayne:

The answer is yes.

While you can’t tell just by looking at a rapper, their grillz are usually permanently installed.

Lil Wayne is one of the pioneers of worldwide grillz use. He’s been wearing gold mouth sets since his career in the ’90s, so it’s one of his recognizable traits. But his most expensive set cost him around $150,000.

It’s unknown if the rapper had his grill sets permanently installed, but he said in one of his TV appearances that his grillz are different than the others because “these are my teeth, imma die with them.” The manufacturer is unknown, but it is probably Paul Well, who worked with Wayne numerous times.

Birdman:

The answer is no.

Though some rappers’ diamond grills are permanent, others change them out when they feel like it or want a different look.

Take Birdman, for example. He’s a well-known name in the celebrity jewelry business as the owner of Johnny Dang & Co., a company that makes jewelry for some of music’s biggest stars. He has worn a few different styles of diamond grillz throughout his career, but he currently wears veneers on top of his teeth with diamonds encrusted into each one. It’s unknown when Birdman installed his first set, but news outlets reported that he had them taken off professionally in 2019. At the same time, he got diamonds encrusted veneers on top of his teeth, which cost him around $100,000. Each veneer crown has a perfectly fitted diamond circle in the middle of his teeth.

Trippie Redd:

The answer is yes and no.

Yes, because it’s a dental procedure that involves adding a layer of diamonds to your teeth. No, because the diamonds are removable by your dentist or oral hygienist.

The procedure is called tooth enamel enhancement or tooth whitening with veneers. It involves bonding small pieces of synthetic or natural diamonds to your existing teeth. The process costs around $5,000 and takes about two weeks to complete.

Some rappers like Trippie Redd have opted for this procedure to show off their wealth and status in hip-hop culture. Still, others have done it for cosmetic reasons—to make their smile look brighter or whiter than it would otherwise appear without the added shine from diamonds.

Moneybagg Yo:

Moneybagg Yo is a well-known rapper who loves bling and gold chains. He has had a few grillz over the years he’s been active, but the latest set cost him around $200,000. Moneybagg Yo: installed the grill set at the beginning of 2022, but the designer still needs to be discovered.

His previous sets, which cost him $50 and $100 thousand individually, were made as full-top and bottom grills.

But the latest design is incisors with a minimalistic design. The top row includes a diamond bag of money inspired by his stage name and diamond-encrusted details next to it.

The new set of diamonds is not permanently attached to Money Bagg’s teeth; it can be removed at any time if he chooses to do so.

Gucci Mane:

The answer is a resounding yes.

Gucci Mane got his new teeth in 2017 and has been rocking them ever since. He’s even made headlines for his new look—and it’s no wonder why! With all that bling, you’d think he was trying to outshine a star.

Gucci Mane isn’t the only rapper who has gotten diamond teeth—other artists like Lil Wayne and Kanye West have also called them. But even if you don’t have enough money to get your own set, there are plenty of other ways to rock this trend. You can even buy fake ones online if you want!

Quavo:

The answer is no.

Diamond grillz are removable at any time. However, they require maintenance to keep them looking as beautiful as the day you got them. To keep your diamond grills looking their best, you should clean them with soap and water daily. You can also use toothpaste and a toothbrush for deeper cleaning.

Quavo had his grillz installed in 2020. These emerald-cut diamond grillz, designed and made by custom jewelry business Johnny Dang & Co took almost two months to create, costing the rapper $250,000.

This grill is not Quavo’s first mouth jewelry, but it is undoubtedly his most expensive set, cut from the finest baguette diamonds. The ideal cut for emerald diamonds is 1.30 to 1.50, and the manufacturer, Johnny Dang, made a one-of-a-kind emerald 1-of-1 emerald cut diamonds for his grill.

Grillz or grills are pieces of jewelry worn on top of your teeth that cover your natural tooth enamel while allowing you to still talk clearly without any distortion in your speech pattern (hence why they’re also called front teeth).

Key Glock:

The answer is yes.

American rapper Key Glock has been in the hip-hop business since 2016; it took a little while to have his second pair of grillz professionally installed in 2019. He is the first rapper to get permanent baguette diamond grillz installed for $560,000.

To install permanent grillz, you must have a certified dentist specializing in endless mouth jewelry, especially if you want to take them out like Key Glock had to remove his old set. The rapper documented the process on Instagram Live on his now-deleted profile.

Key Glock took advantage of a new technology called CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing). Let dentists design custom grills on a computer before they are made with a 3D printer and placed in your mouth.

Lil Pump:

The answer is: Yes and no.

Lil Pump, who bought himself a rose gold baguette diamond grillz for almost $1,000,000 in 2019, is among the many rappers using their mouths to show off their wealth and status. The American rapper bragged about his purchase in a Facebook video post. He also showed off his latest acquisition in a video where he went bowling with his friends.

Baguette diamonds are long rectangular stones considered the least expensive among other diamond cuts. Later reported that his grillz were dismantled soon after the purchase.

But why would anyone spend so much on something easily destroyable? Diamond teeth/grillz aren’t forever lasting. If made of porcelain or acrylic, they won’t chip or break if they fall out or get knocked out during a fight.

Conclusion: Are rappers’ diamond teeth permanent?

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. That’s what they say. But what about rappers? Are diamond teeth natural?

The short answer is yes.

Rap artists like Quavo and Wiz Khalifa have made headlines for wearing diamond grills on their teeth. These grills are expensive and can cost thousands of dollars to make. There are several reasons rappers choose to wear these grills instead of other types of jewelry like rings or necklaces.

One reason is that wearing a diamond grill shows off your wealth and status in the music industry. The more money you have, the more diamonds you can afford to put in your mouth! Another reason is that it makes you look tough (and we all know how important it is for rappers to look tough). Some people even see diamond grills as being intimidating!

So are rappers’ diamond teeth natural? Definitely! But if you want one for yourself, you might want to start saving up—these babies aren’t cheap!
